Women’s surfing is progressing at an unprecedented rate. Back in the old days watching a girls’ surf comp or video was, well, not exactly boring but… no, actually, it definitely was boring.

The new school of girl surfers are, however, flaring like never before. Power turns, slick tricks and proper airs are all now well within their repertoire and this is making it not only exciting but also beautiful to watch. You may want to think twice before getting a girlfriend who can pull air reverses (purely for your own self esteem) but I love where this surfing genre is heading.

I live surrounded by surf all day, every day, and I follow many good guys. But these girls are doing things that are hard to believe.
Nike 6.0 are a newcomer to the surf scene and are receiving a mixed reception.

Their latest surf movie Leave A Message (watch it below) is big budget, beautifully produced and showcases their female surf team including Carissa Moore (Hawaii), Lakey Peterson (USA), Laura Enever (Australia), Coco Ho (Hawaii), Byrne-Wickey Monyca (Hawaii) and Malia Manuel (Hawaii) in a range of perfect locations.

Jason Kenworthy, the film director said, “I live surrounded by surf all day, every day, and I follow many good guys. But these girls are doing things that are hard to believe.”

Switch to full-screen and kick back for 24 minutes of pure surfing fun.
