Seen gracing the mugs of big wave chargers like Raimana, we took a look at the water sunnies made by SeaSpecs.Sea Specs have been spotted on big-wave chargers such as Raimana, the Chopes hellman. If they can withstand that kind of beating, how did they fare at Surfd…?
Review
Sturdy and streamlined, I was impressed when I first unwrapped my Sea Specs. Now it’s not a brand synonymous with surf-related eyewear but I think that everyone deserves a chance so I strapped these babies to my face and checked out the world. The glasses have excellent polarising lenses which effectively strip the glare from any scene: perfect for checking out the surf. And those oiled up creatures that grace the sand just before the surf.

The head strap keeps ‘em on nice and tight and should withstand a fair amount of beating. The strap in non-adjustable so if you have a massive noggin’ it may be more prone to bursting but overall it’s a comfortable fit. The design of the glasses funnels water from the surface through a series of holes to keep the lenses water-free even after repeated submersion. These specs are really functional and look good. Were it not for the strap they have the potential to be your full-time sunnies.
The good
• Good in the surf
